Pela nossa amostra fica a ideia de que no México, ou na Riviera Maya pelo menos, existem muitas bicicletas de carga. E é verdade mas pode ser devido a andarmos sobretudo por estâncias turísticas onde elas são verdadeiras ferramentas de trabalho.

From our sample we get the impression that in Mexico, or the Riviera Maya at least, there are many cargo bicycles. And its true but that can be due to us being mainly in tourist resorts where they truly are working tools.

0237 - Balam

Não é no sítio da antiga cidade de Ek Balam, mas uso o mesmo nome pois ele significa "Jaguar", tal como o desta bicicleta que parece um misto de BTT com utilitária e descansa à sombra pois o sol em Chichén Itzá aquece muito e o ciclista pode se queimar quando for usar a bicicleta.

Its not in the site of the old city of Ek Balam, but I use the same name as it means "Jaguar", like the name of this bicycle that looks like an hybrid of MTB with an utility and it rests in the shade since the sun in Chichén Itzá is really hot and the cyclist might get burned when using the bike.

Deixada junto da vegetação semi-selvagem que preenche os jardins e mata circundante do hotel, esta antiga bicicleta de serviço, já sem pedais, torna-se ela mesma parte da paisagem.

Left close to the semi-wild vegetation that fills the gardens and surrounding woods of the hotel, this old service bicycle, already without pedals, becomes part of the landscape herself.

No México a bicicleta também usada para diversos fins, tais como bicicleta de carga mas ao contrário das bakfiets holandesas, aqui a caixa de carga é uma continuação do quadro da bicicleta. Esta é usada no hotel para o transporte de diversos bens, neste caso para o reabastecimento do bar da piscina/praia.

In Mexico the bicycle is also used for different purposes such as cargo bike but unlike the Dutch bakfiets, here the cargo box is a continuation of the bike's frame. This one is used in the hotel for the transport of several goods, in this case for resupplying the pool/beach bar.
