Encontrar uma Motobécane (talvez uma Grand Sprint) nos dias de hoje em Amesterdão é um pouco surpreendente. A marca, talvez mais conhecida pelas suas Mobylettes, chegou a ser a segunda maior marca francesa de bicicletas, tendo sido das primeiras a usar componentes japoneses nos anos 70. Agora ainda se fabricam bicicletas com o nome de Motobecane, mas são bicicletas baratas feitas em Taiwan segundo especificações do antigo importador americano do fabricante original.

Finding a Motobécane (perhaps a Grand Sprint) in Amsterdam in these times is a bit surprising. The brand, probably best known for their Mobylettes, was once the number two French maker of bicycles, being one of the first to use Japanese components back in the 70s. Bikes under the name Motobecane are still produced today, but they are cheap bikes made in Taiwan following the specifications of the old American importer of the original maker.
